Guest Speaker: Paula Evans-Fitch

Is this a loose part, a toy or just a material? Could a wooden spoon be a spoon and a loose part? This is an interactive workshop for educators who are curious about loose parts play and wish to connect with colleagues while engaging with materials. Bring your imagination and willingness to play and together we will get hands-on with materials and create invitations to use both indoors and outdoors, uncovering the many possibilities of loose parts.

Paula Evans-Fitch is the Executive Director at The Learning Center of
Palo Alto and has been in the early childhood field for over 30 years.
She is an innovative and knowledgeable practitioner when it comes to environmental design, and provisioning of unique materials for children’s learning. Many of her ideas are featured in Designs for Living and Learning with Children by Deb Curtis and Margie Carter as examples of best practice.
