Speaker: Lisa Rock

Do you ever feel like you are spending so much time policing children that you don’t have time to slow down and smell the roses with them? Do procedures and expectations for supervision of children leave you feeling more fearful than empowered? In this discussion group we will review PACCC procedures for supervision, the impact they are having on educators and teaching and how you can supervise effectively while embracing the joy of working with children. This interactive session will include time to share your struggles with supervision and to discuss strategies for focusing on the joys of your work with children.

Lisa Rock is the Executive Director of Palo Alto Community Child Care and has been working with children, educators and families for 30 years. As an educator, administrator and parent she has experienced the many highs and lows of working in the field of early childhood education. For every educator who dedicates their life to this great work, she wants a worthy wage, engagement in the work, and supportive connections with other educators. For every child she wants the love and support of caring adults and unfettered time to experience the joys of learning.
