The 19th Annual Silicon Valley Reads Program Returns in 2022
Power of Kindness, Resilience & Hope

Silicon Valley Reads is a community engagement program that features books and an annual theme to bring people together by providing more than 100 free, public events each year in February and March. Events for all ages include author talks, book clubs, art/music events, community activities, arts and crafts, movies, and creative events or activities based on the theme each year.

This theme will allow us to engage in conversation about the transformative power of kindness, highlight our remarkable capacity for resilience, and build hopefulness for our future. During February and March of 2022, Silicon Valley Reads will offer free virtual and in-person public programs for all ages, including author talks, panel discussions, educational events, demonstrations, performances, activities for students, story times, and an art exhibit.

The Children’s Books selected include:

The Big Umbrella by Amy June Bates (Pre-K - K)

The Girl in the Gold Dress by Christine Paik (1st - 3rd grade)

SHINE! by Chris and J.J. Grabenstein (4th - 8th grade)
