Creating a Safer Community – Understanding and Defining Hate Crimes

The City of Palo Alto’s Human Relations Commission will be hosting a community event titled Creating a Safer Community – Understanding and Defining Hate Crimes on Tuesday, October 15, 5:30pm at the Mitchell Park Community Center.  Mayor Greer Stone will serve as the emcee and the event will feature speakers from the Palo Alto Police Department, County of Santa Clara District Attorney’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).  Topics will include understanding the difference between a hate crime and a hate incident, how and where to report hate crimes, and resources for victims.  To RSVP, please go to Creating a Safer Community: Understanding and Defining Hate Crimes.
