Board Member Highlight | Chris Torres
February 21st, 2024
Chris Torres, Partner at Irvin, Abrahamson & Company, CPAs Inc joined the PACCC Board in 2022. Chris now has two daughters at Escondido Kids’ Club (EKC), a PACCC school-age program at Escondido Elementary School. His daughters love all of the staff at EKC where they are able to develop their social skills amongst peers and get some help with their homework, if needed. The environment fostered by EKC was just what his family was looking for to help his children blossom. When it comes time to pick-up, his children often do not want to leave!
Chris has been a local Palo Altan for many years and grew up attending PAUSD schools. His ties to the local community run deep as Chris has been a member of the Kiwanis Club of Palo Alto since 2004. The Kiwanis Club is a community service organization that focuses on helping the children of the world. Chris has also helped Neighbors Abroad of Palo Alto, the City of Palo Alto’s sister city organization. Living in this wonderful community has been a great experience for Chris. He enjoys working with children and the youth in our community. He finds a special connection with many, having been in their shoes years ago.
Chris looks forward to helping others enjoy the things our community has to offer. Diversity is important to Chris, because growing up he was often one of the only Filipino-American kids in his class. It would be wonderful for people of all backgrounds to be able to access what Chris experienced growing up. PACCC has a deep commitment to diversity and bringing access to high-quality care for all of the children in our community. As a board member, Chris can help PACCC make strides to being the best asset it can be in the community. There is always room for improvement and with a diverse group of board members and staff, one can feel confident that PACCC is doing their best to represent our community in the best way possible.
